During the twenties and thirties of the last century, Paris was the heart of a new era! New Orleans Jazz, Hot Club de France and chansons were celebrating life together like never before. Singer/trumpet player Michael Varekamp and rising star Tess Merlot take us on a trip through the bustling streets of Swingin’ Paris.
The infectious Joie de vivre from the French provided the perfect circumstances for the creation of jazz, only to return to Paris a few years later to triumph in the city of light. The Legends drew their inspiration this time of the French years of superstars like Josephine Baker, Edith Piaf and Sydney Bechet. But most of all, Paris is the central romantic character in this brand new show.
In Swingin’ Paris the theaters are turned into a romantic jazzclub on the Seine were hits are played such as ‘Petit Fleur’, ‘Padam Padam’ and ‘Paris sera toujours Paris’.
