In 60, choreographer Amos Ben-Tal takes the audience on a mesmerizing journey that reflects on the social and personal experience of time. Through a deluge of movement, sound, light and poetry, Ben-Tal and the fantastic dancers skillfully deconstruct the concept of time.
Sixty minutes to share moments of stillness, pressure, hope and desire, exploring the structure of time and its mysteries.
OFFprojects is a group consisting of former dancers of Nederlands Dans Theater and Batsheva Ensemble, gathered around the work of choreographer and musician Amos Ben-Tal. The group is known for its multidisciplinary performances and exceptional performing skills. After several successful productions, amongst which Howl (winner Dioraphte Dance Prize 2016) they now return to the core of their work: pure dance.
'60' was developed in close collaboration with ICK Amsterdam, a platform for contemporary dance under the direction of Emio Greco & Pieter C. Scholten, that produces dance performances and initiates various research and education projects.
Lecture - Time and form in movement
Dive into the fascinating world of dance, time and space
The impressive dance performance '60' by choreographer Amos Ben-Tal is a physical exploration of how people experience and share time. Like time, dance is fleeting and complex.
To better understand the interaction between these elements we must first consider form and space. In this short talk, which starts three quarters of an hour in advance of the performance (at 19:45), Ben-Tal and interdisciplinary artist Gosse de Kort will unravel the intricacies of abstraction and offer us new tools to relate to the fascinating world of '60'.
De Kort is a ‘space specialist’. He comes from a background in architecture, creates kinetic spatial installations and teaches at the KABK.
This free context event is intended for fans of dance, visual art, design and architecture and anyone who wishes to deepen their artistic experience.
These prices are excluding € 1,50 ticket fee (per booking).
