At the instructions of the Dutch government, all activities (performances, films, lessons, workshops and events) in our theatre have been cancelled until June 1st due to the coronavirus (COVID-19). Which means that we have to cancel and/or move all performances and activities until that time and that our doors remain closed until further notice.
In the following weeks we will contact everyone who purchased tickets for performances that are cancelled or rescheduled. Under the current circumstances, this may take a bit longer than normally. Our programmers are doing their best to find new dates for as many performances as they can, but this takes time and requires a lot of coordinating. As soon as a new date is set, you will be notified (per performance) per text, phone and/or email. De Meervaart asks for your understanding.
Now, more than ever, we are aware of how difficult it is not to celebrate cultural life in our theatre. Welcoming our guests upon entering, the experience in our halls and a drink afterwards now seem very far away, but we do everything in our power to reschedule the already programmed performances and focus on the upcoming season.
We would like to express our special attention and thanks to the vital professional groups, who do everything they can to keep our society on the move. From healthcare providers to restockers and from teachers to pharmaceuticals and everything in between. We make a deep bow to these hard workers.
We would also like to thank you – our visitors - for your patience, encouraging messages and understanding in this difficult time.
With kind regards,
